Some carers may benefit from formal support in the form of counselling and respite.

‘Respite’ is when you are given a break by another carer who takes on your role for an amount of time. Respite can be in the home of the person you care for or in an overnight care facility. Carers may be able to access help around the home to assist with domestic tasts and running errands.

To access such services speak with your Social Worker, GP or contact Carers Australia on Freecall 1800 242 636 www.carersaustralia.com.au
