DonateLife Thank You Day 2016 was created by Sarah
DonateLife Thank You Day is a national Day dedicated to recognising and honouring all living and deceased organ and tissue donors and their families who have agreed to organ and tissue donation. We are inviting every Australian to take part simply by sharing a thank you message.

You can support this important Day by:
• helping to promote awareness of the Day in your workplace and your community – through online banners, email signatures, posters and social media posts.
• helping to promote awareness of the Day with transplant recipients
• sharing a ‘message of thanks’ in acknowledgement of all living and deceased organ and tissue donors and their families.

Sharing your message on Monday 14 November

From 14 November – Sunday 20 November we are inviting all Australians to create and share thank you messages, selfies and video messages via their own personal social media accounts using the following hashtags #ThankYouDay, #DonateLife and #endthewait.

We’d appreciate your assistance to launch this activity on Monday 14 November – simply by uploading, posting or tweeting your message of thanks via your social media channels as public messages, so we can share them via the DonateLife website which will capture all public posts with the campaign hashtags. Alternatively, we can publish your selfies/messages via DonateLife social media channels, if you email it to us by Thursday 10 November.

To take part, we’re inviting you on Monday 14 November to:
• Post a message about DonateLife Thank You Day on social media and/or share, retweet or regram DonateLife Thank You Day content posted by DonateLife to promote the day – make sure you use the hashtags #ThankYouDay, #DonateLife, and #endthewait.
or
• Print the attached Selfie poster (Thank You Day message poster), handwrite your message of thanks, and upload a photo of yourself holding your written message, including hashtags #ThankYouDay #DonateLife in your post and;
• Encourage people to register their donation decision on the Australia Organ Donor Register and share their decision with family and loved ones.

A step-by-step guide for how to participate is included in the attached DonateLife Thank You Day Supporter Kit. The webpage is also now live and you can find out more information and the online resources at www.donatelife.gov.au/thank-you-day

DonateLife Thank You Day is an opportunity for transplant recipients to both share a public message as well as to consider writing to their respective donor families via the formal channels.
